Pablo Torre Hints That He Might Shift His Focus To Jalen Brunson And The Knicks As His Next Target

In a matter of a single day, Pablo Torre had established himself as the NBA’s Boogeyman. If you’re a team or a front office and you’ve participated in some risky business recently, you have to be shaking in your boots that Pablo Torre is going to catch wind of it and expose it for the world to see. You have to think everyone from the league office to teams around the NBA are having some interesting conversations right now.

Everyone in high alert, waiting to see who might be next. Well, according to Pablo himself, perhaps that could be Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks

Ah yes, the Jalen Brunson extension. This guy

No big deal, just a player willingly taking a $113M discount. That’s totally something that’s completely normal and happens all the time. Nothing to see here!

At the time, Brunson was praised for being an incredibly selfless teammate. A captain willing to take less for himself so his teammates could benefit. For all we know, that’s exactly what happened and all that was.

But if Pablo Torre thinks there may be something there, there has to be at least a non 0% chance that he could uncover something right? This is a journalist who has made it very clearly he’s willing to take his time and cross all his Ts and dot his i’s when it comes to this stuff. He’s not going to rush something out just to go viral. He’s going to make sure his reporting is bulletproof before it hits the world, and he’s clearly shown the willingness to do whatever it takes ti uncover the truth.

Even if there’s nothing shady with Brunson, the larger point is this is all just the beginning. You can bet your bottom dollar before it’s all said and done we’re going to see another franchise put out a statement that will look just like the Clippers

If it’s not Brunson, it’ll end up being someone else. You’re kidding yourself if you think something like this only happened with the Clippers. Now that the can of worms has been opened, there’s no going back.

Would it shock anyone if we later learn that teams rushed to destroy evidence in the fallout of all this? We now live in a world where every team friendly deal moving forward is going to be questioned. For example, when Luka got traded to the Lakers and lost his Supermax, did the Lakers get him a tree sponsorship deal to make it up (probably, Pablo should do them next in my non-biased opinion).

Can you imagine what happens if something shady did go down with Brunson? Maybe they gave his dad a $100M fugazi sponsorship deal. A big time marquee franchise like the Knicks? Chaos to a level I don’t think we can even comprehend.

All I know is the last thing you want right now is hearing that Pablo Torre is putting your front office decisions under a microscope. The man is on a heater and he’s just getting started.
