It's Crazy To Think There's Never Been A Better Relationship Between Coach and Quarterback Than With Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts

What a breakdown of one of the coldest plays in Philadelphia Eagles history.

The Eagles could have just played it safe. You're going up against the 2x defending champs. You're already up by 20+ deep into the 3rd quarter. They could have tried to just burn some more time off the clock, be happy if they came away from that drive with a field goal, and really put the pressure on Kansas City. Instead, they decided to leave no doubt about it. To end the game right then and there. To deliver The Dagger.

The only way you call, and execute, a play like that in that spot is if you have two guys who are completely on the same page with each other. Two guys who have total faith in one another that they'll have what it takes to answer the phone when the time is calling. Jalen Hurts knew he could trust Nick Sirianni to step up and call one of those plays if he gave him a list of plays he knew would be kill shots. And Nick Sirianni knew he could trust Jalen Hurts to step up if one of those plays made it into the huddle.

It's crazy because the entire summer of 2024 was spent talking about the fractured relationship between Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni. About how it had seemingly gotten to the point where one of them would have to go. Even 4 games into the 2025 season, it seemed like they were trying to pull the rope in different directions from one another. The fact that they were able to not only mend that relationship, but turn it into one that could orchestrate a moment like "The Dagger" in the biggest spot the game has to offer? That only happens if you have two guys built just like Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni.

No ego. No selfish motivators. Just two guys working completely in sync with each other to win a football game. That's the kind of relationship that turns one Super Bowl win into many.

Go Birds.
