HISTORIC: The Only Quarterback Since 1991 To Lead Their Team To Scoring Drives On Every Possession Was... (Checks Notes) Daniel Jones?

File this one under "the most obvious thing everybody saw coming".

We all knew Daniel Jones was going to go the fuck off once they took the reigns off him. I just don't think anybody saw it coming week 1.

But no, real talk here for a minute, by all accounts Daniel Jones has always seemed like a good dude. We did a lot of kicking while he was down around here (especially me) the past few seasons, so I am legitimately rooting for the guy to turn his career around in a new setting.

After doing something neither Brady, nor Manning, nor Brees ever did today, he deflected all credit and praised his new teammates.

Class act.

And what a stat line.

I'm not allowed to talk shit about the Giants, since they technically own us Patriots fans, but if I was able to, I would say something along the lines of "maybe Daniel Jones wasn't the issue?" Yes, it's far to early to crown anybody. I'm not crazy. But for the life of me I will never understand teams spending high value draft stock on quarterbacks, then investing tens of millions of dollars in guaranteed money and extensions on them, and then refusing to protect their investment by putting a capable offensive line in front of them. It's like buying a Ferrari and telling them not to worry about the brake pads, you don't need em.

Colts fans don't want to blow their load over 1 game, but they gotta be riding pretty high tonight.

p.s. - the said on the broadcast but the reason Manning and Brady never accomplished the feat was because they took knees on final drives to run out the clock and deaded the streak.
