The New 'Knives Out' Looks Fantastic And Reviews Are Already Great

I know it's only two movies so far, but I absolutely love Rian Johnson's 'Knives Out' franchise and hope he makes a hundred installments.

'Knives Out' itself is one of my favorite movies made in the last ten years, and while 'Glass Onion' felt like a definite step down from the original, I really loved that one too. Both movies are hilarious and written so well that they have you on the edge of your seat the entire time, even after you find out who the killer is! And there's just something about stacking a murder mystery with an all star cast that gets me every time; not to mention how amazing Daniel Craig is as Detective Benoit Blanc - one of the best original characters the genre has ever seen. Plus, the movies being named after songs ('Knives Out' - Radiohead, 'Glass Onion' - Beatles, 'Wake Up Dead Man' - U2) is a bonus that's right up my alley.

The latest Benoit Blanc mystery, titled: 'Wake Up Dead Man' debuted at Toronto International Film Festival this past weekend, and the review were tremendous....

They dropped the trailer for 'Wake Up Dead Man' this morning, revealing the mystery this time around - Josh Brolin is a Priest who seemingly finishes a sermon, walks into "a concrete box", and is dead 30 seconds later - and the tone, which is clearly darker than the previous two films, and I couldn't possibly be more in. I'm even writing this blog to 'Wake Up Dead Man' by U2 right now and can totally feel the vibe of the trailer in the song. I think we've got another Rian Johnson/Daniel Craig banger on our hands.

This movie will hit Netflix on December 12th, but it'll have a brief theatrical run starting on November 26th and I'll absolutely be seeing it on the big screen.

P.S. It's been pointed out before, but it's always hilarious to me that Craig wanted out of big franchise movies after Bond, and then fell backwards into one of the biggest franchises Netflix has after taking a shot on a silly Rian Johnson whodunnit.
