UFC May Not Be At The White House On July 4th Anymore But The Rumored Details Sound Sick
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the UFC card at The White House may not be on the Fourth of July anymore due to scheduling/logistical issues - but it is still happening, possibly in June now, and the details sound fucking awesome.
For starters, weigh-ins/faceoffs will take place at the Lincoln Memorial; what a backdrop. I didn't even consider utilizing the rest of DC's landmarks until now. Plus, they're allegedly going to have the fighters warming up in the actual White House - possibly even walking from the Oval Office to the cage. I know half of the readers of this blog are already cringing and rolling their eyes at this point, but hear me out - this is a straight up video game come to life. Like I'd imagine 'The White House' as an arena in a 'Fight Night' or 'Def Jam' fighting game, and they'd ramp the ridiculousness up right to this level. Fireworks, landmarks, a bit of a North Korea/Gladiator type vibe with the President overseeing everything, it's a verrrrry "MURICA" celebration. Perfect for the 250th anniversary of the country.
Hopefully Trump has more fun at this event than the US Open....
They just need to load that card full of easy fights for the Americans. Jon Jones still swears he wants in on the event....
….but as Dana White said, you just can't trust that guy with anything, let alone the White House….
Conor McGregor is another guy who wants in, as he's been posting some AI slop images trying to hype his return….
….but he also seems to think he's going to walk into the cage as the President of Ireland after winning the election, so take absolutely everything he says and promises with a fraction of a grain of salt. I'm just excited for a pair of UFC gloves to be added to the Smithsonian after this. Oh, and you think anyone does the Apollo Creed walkout?!
I know it might be a bad omen at this point, but it's a hell of an entrance.
