Ohio University's Head Coach Called Caleb Downs "One Of The Best Receivers In The Country" And Is Looking For Ways To Slow Him Down On Saturday

So I'm sitting here on this fine Tuesday morning, going through my usual routine as I close shop on the previous week's Ohio State game and start amping up my preparation for the Buckeyes upcoming opponent. And as I sip on my coffee and watch the other team's Head Coach Press Conference, I damn near spit out my Stella Blue when he started talking about how he needs to choose which Wide Receiver he wants to take away from the Buckeyes offense on Saturday: Jeremiah Smith or CALEB DOWNS.

Excuse me? It doesn't take a film study major to know who Caleb Downs is. The man is a unanimous All-American and future Top 5 pick. Average Joes sitting on their couch know who Caleb Downs is, but Ohio University's coach is trying to turn off his water while the Buckeyes are on offense? For reference, Caleb Downs has never played a snap on offense in his college career. Although maybe he was remembering that Punt Return...

Would probably be a sick receiver, honestly. But regardless, I'm sure some people will come to Coach Smith's defense here saying that it was a slip of the tongue or he had Carnell and Caleb mixed up, but my answer to that is simple: good. If their coach can't even remember the difference between Carnell Tate and Caleb Downs, how the fuck are his 18-22 kids supposed to execute a game plan against them?

I was slightly (between 0 and 1%) nervous heading into this weekend with the whole "Bob Katz" name change looming, but now I'm as calm as a cucumber.
