Anthony Rizzo Officially Retires. An All-Time Great Cub. The Perfect Captain
An absolutely perfect video by the Cubs above. He was the perfect baseball player. The heartbeat and the soul of a team that ended a curse and delivered memories to a city that will last a lifetime. Rizzo was a great player. All-Star teams. Gold Gloves. Plenty of accolades. He is truly one of those guys where that stats and awards don't even matter. They don't even begin to tell the story of Anthony Rizzo and what he meant to the Chicago Cubs. He was the first piece of the rebuild to really make the 25 man roster. He was the captain even if he didn't actually have a C on his chest. Rizzo did everything right. A born leader. The perfect player at the right time for an organization that desperately needed him. 44 should be flying from the foul poles with all the other Cub greats and honestly...maybe it should be flying the highest. There were more talented players on the 2016 Cubs, but nobody meant more to the team. Everyone loves Rizzo and always will.
