Terence Crawford Just DOMINATED Canelo Alvarez

As a big Canelo fan, that was not the easiest headline for me to type out, but there really is no other way to put it.
It was one of the few times when I was able to open my laptop before the decision was even announced to proclaim the winner with ZERO concerns that a dirty judge, or some other extenuating circumstance, would deliver ANY other decision other than a Unanimous Decision for Crawford.
Credit to Canelo for taking the fight... But not a ton of credit.
Credit to Turki for throwing enough money at both teams to make this fight happen... But not a ton of credit either.
Almost all the credit should go to Terence Crawford, who saw what many others (including myself) failed to see: A very clear and easy road to beating Canelo Alvarez.
Is Terence currently the pound-for-pound best after tonight's dominant performance?
I know some people will argue both sides.
But what is inarguable is that Bud's boxing IQ is as high as anyone I've ever watched, and that he is now the Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion of the World.
If you don't believe me, ask Piers Morgan...
If you want my opinion on what went wrong for Alvarez, I will tell you that Canelo's power has slowly dissipated over the past few years, leaving him in a situation where he can only win by "outboxing" his opponents, and Terence was/is simply a better boxer.
So punches like this still leave a dent…
But they don't create KOs.
And ring acumen like Bud's is tough to match without some serious stopping power…
Canelo is not done unless he wants to be, and I don't think anyone wants to see a rematch.
So we have to wait and see what Alvarez's next move is. And we also have to wait and see if Crawford wants to keep going at the ripe old age of 38 (his birthday is in two weeks), OR if he wants to walk away from the sport as a bona fide legend… A generational talent… And the guy who just beat the balls off Canelo Alvarez.
Take a report.
