Why Do I Care?

What's the point of caring about something that doesn't care about you? It's not like they care when you're having a bad day, nor do they even care if they're the reason you're having a bad day. At the end of the day, all they care about is themselves. They use their leverage the same way Palpatine used Anakin.

They manipulate the narrative, feed you convenient lies, and then act surprised when you swallow them whole. They twist small favors into obligations, kindness into currency. They make you apologize for existing and expect gratitude for the leftovers they toss your way. And we let them. We hand them the strings and somehow convince ourselves we're the ones making the puppet dance.

Why? Because we care more. We invest more of our time, our hope, our dignity. We hold the mirror while they paint our face with clown make up. The cruelest part is how personal it gets. The more we care, the more ammunition they have, the more we bend, the more they shape us to their convenience. Control, disguised as concern, becomes a slow and painful death.

So here's what I say, stop caring and they lose. When we stop caring, we stop fueling their power. The day we stop measuring our worth by their approval, we become free. The less we react, the less they can bully us. Freedom doesn't come from revenge it comes from not giving a fuck. When you stop hinging your mood on their mood, you stop being their project.

And yet, that day feels impossible. Because we will always care. Love, loyalty, irritation, they're all shades of delusion. Even after being burned, we return to the to the source, convinced one day it will all change. So we keep playing this losing game, hoping this time they'll change, or that we’ll be the exception. We aren't. Not usually.

I hate it here.

Because at the end of the day… they don’t care so why should we?

(It’s only been two weeks).
