Was kinda surprised no one else did a recap of One Bite Pizza Fest already? I'd certainly say it's worth another look. This was my 1st time ever attending and unbiasedly I gotta say, it HITS. Absolutely worth a roadtrip next year, your tastebuds will NOT know what hit them. But they will be eternally grateful.
It was a beautiful day of dairy & A+ weather on Randall's Island and all the biggest stars were there too! Including Large from 'You Gotta Try This', isn't he the fucking best? Here's a quick look at his Top 5 slices.
You obviously can't go wrong with any of The Big 3 from New Haven but for my money, Modern is the #1 out there. Shout out to Will and his team for always going above & beyond, he's former KFC Radio intern who ended up leaving us to go run the family business.

I'd say he made the right choice. They pump out bangers ONLY.
Also huge shout out to Sally's for donating $10,000 to the Tunnels To Towers foundation, very generous of them. And I loved their tribute to all-time Italians at their slice station.

Of course we can't talk about New Haven pizza with mentioning the OG king, Frank Pepe. Basically the Packers Sweep of pizza. LOVED that they had a live stream there of their main restaurant blasting out pies. That's next level #content.

My sneaky favorite slice of the day was the Vodka Roni from Borrelli's. I've always wanted to make it out there to Long Island for the real thing and I certainly will now… Mr. Borrelli is a goddamn mad scientist! And remains a superstar of earth.
It wasn't just NYC & New Haven spots either, we had pizza from all over America represented there. Including Tiny Brick Oven from Maryland, a Baltimore spot that was about to close down for good before the saltiest man of the earth Dave Portnoy stepped in and helped save their entire business with (1) review.

Uncle Jerry's was also a popular slice, they hail from Chicago with a not quite but almost deep dish pie. Tommy Smokes gave them a 9.1!

Of course the heavy hitters also delivered in spades. Lucali, Di Fara, Ceres all had lines out the door that were absolutely worth the wait.
Those pizzas belong in the fucking Louvre man. Their taste is mind bottling.

INCREDIBLE day at the ballpark. No notes. Well other than I would've loved to see Dante The Don there DJing, whether he was in a Scream mask or not. Maybe next year.
