'We Don't Take Any Shit' - Baker Mayfield Perfectly Summed Up Why He Decided To Hop Up And Get Into It With CJ Gardner-Johnson (Again)
We all saw and know what happened on Monday:
Just the ultimate Baker ending. There was no doubt that he was going to make a drive down the field, since that's all he seems to do with the Bucs. Ever since he moved from defensive line with the Panthers to QB1 of the Bucs, he's been one of the 7-10 best quarterbacks in the league.
Now, the Baker/Gardner-Johnson thing isn't new. They got into it when Gardner-Johnson was on the Lions:
And now everything that happened on Monday. We got a little social media again:
All good in my book. But Baker summed it up even better:
Yep, that's exactly how I'd sum up Baker Mayfield. He's easily one of the most fun players to watch in the league, especially if you don't care about the NFC South (or sit by Steven Cheah). Dude just constantly delivers in big moments, runs his mouth and backs it up. He's been a bit of an asshole since his OU days with the dancing, flag planting, grabbing his nuts and it all plays. He got humbled having to play in Cleveland and Carolina, no one wants to do that. But now he's out here having people argue about where he is on the quarterback ranking.
All I know is we need to get CJ Gardner-Johnson back in the NFC. This is one of those weird rivalries that just plays. We don't have too many individual rivalries in the NFL anymore outside of Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore. Need more of it.
