'I Don't Think You Draft A Guy Like Me To Not Give Me Carries And Touches' - Ashton Jeanty Is Practically Begging The Raiders To Run The Offense Through Him
A lot of people are calling Ashton Jeanty out saying this is him calling the coaching staff out. I don't see that. I see a running back drafted in the top-10, wanting the ball more and doesn't realize how bad his offensive line is.
He's also not wrong. Ashton Jeanty is good, I don't care what his stats say the first two games of his career. Get him on some quick passes and into space and see what he can do without his offensive line basically. Not like we're talking about Geno Smith being some elite quarterback, or the Raiders having a ton of great weapons on offense when it's mostly Bowers and Jakobi Meyers.
Not to mention, Carroll seems to agree a bit
At some point you gotta figure out a way to get Jeanty going. He's right, you don't draft a running back high unless you're running the offense through him. Then again, you shouldn't draft a running back high unless you're competing and finishing out your roster.
I can't get over that stat though. Had more yards after contact than total yards. Seems like a problem! I do think Carroll will eventually get the Raiders more competitive, but this offensive line ain't the answer. So at least make it entertaining and let us see Jeanty do his thing.
