On The Heels Of Monday's Marathon Game 3, The Blue Jays Bounce Back No Problem And Level The World Series At 2 Games Apiece

Getty Images.I don't think it took an expert to understand that losing a game like Monday night that soared past six hours long and required you to use nine pitchers was going to be devastating for the Blue Jays. To have to regroup in less than 24 hours after that draining defeat is not an easy task by any means. Oh and here's Shohei Ohtani on the mound to add insult to injury. Well, all the credit to the Jays because they punched back. Shane Bieber out-dueled Ohtani and the Toronto offense did their thing as they cruised to victory to level the World Series at two games apiece.
The big blow that got everything going? It came off the bat of who else but Vladdy. A bomb to take the lead in the 3rd.
The Jays would never give that lead up as they rode Bieber for 16 outs. Getting that kind of length out of him was paramount in this game after how many arms were used in Game 3. Fluharty, Bassit, and Varland combined to get the rest to lock this one up. In the 7th the Toronto offense broke out for four runs and put it away for good.
Like I said yesterday, these are definitively the two best teams in the sport this year. They are going blow for blow in this World Series and now it's anyone's guess who is going to come out on top. Last night Ohtani reached base nine times. On Tuesday the Jays held him in check and prevented his at bats from holding much weight when he did arrive to the plate. He never came up with a runner on base in Game 4. That's a pretty good strategy to keep him contained if you ask me.

The rookie Trey Yesavage gets the ball against Blake Snell in Game 5. Keep in mind Toronto destroys lefties and they made Snell awfully uncomfortable in Game 1. With Yamamoto lurking in Game 6, they really gotta find a way to duplicate that explosion. The World Series is evened up at 2-2. It's been a pretty blah postseason leading up to this series, but man is this elite. Cannot wait for Game 5.
