'He's Delusional' - We've Reached The Point Of The Giants Season Where Dexter Lawrence And Carl Banks Are Throwing Haymakers At Each Other To The Media
A few days ago we had Carl Banks throw this out there. Just randomly announcing that teams don't respect Dexter Lawrence anymore. Pretty heavy accusations, especially for a guy who is/was considered the best at his position. Here's the thing. I don't think Carl Banks is wrong in the sense that Lawrence doesn't look right. No idea if he's still hurt or just never really got back to 100%, but something isn't right. He's not moving the same, doesn't look the same. That's fair to say and think anyone with eyes would see it.
But, of course, we got Dexter Lawrence throwing his haymaker:
Good! Great! Wonderful! It took one Cam Skattebo season-ending injury for the entire vibes within those walls to shift. We didn't have any bad juju. We didn't have guys fighting with each other. We all hated Shane Bowen and Deonte Banks. We weren't even thinking about a Carl Banks and Dexter Lawrence fight. But, this is where we are now. This is what happens when you have a guy who works within the team, is a legend of the Giants and wants to throw shots. At least mention that Dexter Lawrence is double teamed more than anyone.
We do have Banks doing some damage control on his timeline. Keeps saying he loves Dexter Lawrence, wants him to turn the season around. But, as a fan? I've seen this story before. I've seen former player insults current player, everyone gets pissed off, everyone else is hurt and the season becomes a bigger disaster. Then again, the way the Giants have been for the last decade, how can I be surprised? This is who we are as a franchise right now.
Maybe it'll work. Maybe Dexter Lawrence is finally pissed off at the world and Carl Banks and has his big game against the 49ers. If that's the case, I'm willing to listen to Carl Banks, defensive coordinator.
