Woody Harrelson Closes The Door On More True Detective: "Not A Chance"
Welp - there you have it! After recent teases from True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto and even Matthew McConaughey about opening the door back up to see more Rust and Marty....
....Woody Harrelson isn't having it. And you know what? McConaughey and Harrelson might not be on the same page here, but I respect the hell out of this decision.
I woulda been open to another season if they wanted to go down that path and felt the had a story worthy of it, but I also think leaving a perfect thing be is very smart - and True Detective Season 1 was perfect. It may be my favorite single season of television I've ever seen! I even blogged about it a few years back.
Now my only concern is them moving forward without him. I think the 'Social Network' sequel happening without Jesse Eisenberg or David Fincher is super strange, and I wouldn't want them bending the story to write off Marty or even worse - trying to recast him.
P.S. Our Halloween edition of My Mom's Basement just went live and I think it's a great episode if you're into nerdy shit. We break down the news of the week and 'The Long Halloween' - arguably the best Batman comic ever written....
