Ref Show! It’s Hard To Argue This SMU Field Goal Was Good, Despite The Refs Ruling It a Miss .. SMU Says Screw It And Upsets Miami Anyway
Another wee another ref show!
SMU and Miami are in a dog fight right now for those of you people who can actually watch it despite YouTube Tv and ESPN doing everything they can to take it away from millions of people.
Anyway.
SMU’s QB Kevin Jennings has made some great throws on a drive to tie or take the lead but when trapped with a 3rd and 21 ran an asinine trick play which led to a FG attempt which by all accounts looks good. Tie gam right? Wrong… enter the refs. Once again.
It sure looked good to me but apparently the review shows the entire football has to go through and the refs made the right call.
So I guess it was a good call? Very very difficult play there. Sure looked good to me. Talk about a bad break for SMU.
But as a wise cliche man like myself once half heard and is trying to recite as his own, "bad breaks only break your back if you let them."
SMU said fuck it, drove down the field AGAIN and hit a Field Goal in the last minute to send it to OT. From there they surprise, surprise got an INT from Carson Beck
and them jammed one in the endzone to win it for the outright upset.
Miami's path to the CFP looks GRIM to say the least, and they are in massive trouble to make the ACC title game. Talk about a bad day. Thoughts and prayers to our friend Danny Boy Cane.
Ps- get your tinfoil hats out for this one because it makes sense.
