Dabo, The Announcers And Basically Everyone Else Lost Their Minds On The Ref For Calling This Pass Interference, Costing Clemson The Game
Got myself stuck in a hard place here. I don't like Dabo, I think refs are the worst and when I see Duke anything I irrationally hate them. So here we are where I think I might have the most unbiased take because of all that. I don't know how you call pass interference here. We live in a world where refs throw pass interference flags for anything and everything. Let a little hand fighting, this isn't anything egregious. I don't care if they get a little tangled, we don't need flags at all times. What makes it look even worse is how late the flag came out. It feels similar to a foul call in basketball when a ref waits to see if the bucket goes or not. It's either a foul or it's not. It's that simple and another reason I can't stand refs.
Now, you can argue that Clemson shouldn't be blowing double-digit leads and losing to Duke at home, but this Clemson team sucks. I don't know if people were more wrong about them or Penn State. Only difference is Dabo still has a job and Clemson's starting quarterback isn't out for the year. Other than that, basically the same thing. Bad teams who were supposed to be national title contenders.
I do love the announcers not backing down. Feel like we often get announcers just blindly agreeing with refs. I want guys like this, just being like it's football, man. And of course they gave up the 2-point conversion and lost 46-45.
