HISTORY: Jags Kicker Cam Little Drilled A SIXTY EIGHT Yard Field Goal To Set An NFL Record, Made It Look Too Easy
Dear God. Kicking is becoming too easy in the NFL, well unless you're Graham Gano or Parker Romo. But a 68-yarder made with ease shouldn't happen. I know the whole K-Ball argument, being indoors, everything else, I grew up in a time where people would freak out when a team thought about attempting a 50-yarder. It was unheard of and now if you're at midfield you basically have a chance to score. This wasn't just made either, this was good from like 72, which is a fake number. No one can kick the ball that far.
I'll say it. I don't necessarily care about the juiced balls. It makes it entertaining, even if it's dumb. I do want to see it go back to the old way at some point though. I want to see guys struggle from 45. I want this to be stuck in everyone's mind because it had no chance
I kinda think like Brandon Aubrey could make that. But how about the announcers here? They had no clue it was an NFL record. They worked on a solid 90 second delay for it to click in for them. Again, it could be the whole everyone kicks from 60 yards and you forget the record type deal. But, we gotta check the balls. I don't think a kicker has ever been truly drug tested before, might have to break that out tonight for a good old fashioned NFL story.
What a bomb.
