Cam is supposedly from Boston. At this point, I'm not sure what to believe. Because anyone from Boston would have known that if they called out Boston, Boston would fucking push back. 

And I'm guessing that might be what's going on here. Cam lives in the Boston area in the offseason. I'd wager that maybe he's been getting some shit - and rightfully so - from Boston fans the last few weeks. Again, this was the man saying "Fuck Boston" a month ago. 

Someone in his life suggested that he take to social media and issue an "I'm sorry" to Boston, hoping it would make it better.

It won't. At least it shouldn't.

If you're a fan yelling at Cam's family out in public, don't do that, obviously. 

But no one forced Cam to troll my friend Lucy Burdge after the Yankees beat the Red Sox. That was Cam's call.

No one made him attack Boston, just like no one made him post his very heartfelt apology on the Internet. 

I mean, this is just a young man pouring out his heart to the city he grew up in—the city he loves.

Will this earn him fewer cat calls next time he goes to a Bruins game? Maybe. I guess one less fan might yell at him at the North End this offseason. I could see that. 

But should Red Sox fans accept this AI Apology from the newest member of The Rivalry? Hell. No. And when he takes the mound at Fenway next season, fans should let him hear it.
