Donovan Mitchell Drops 46 After A Kid He Was Playing 2K With Called Him Washed

Is NBA 2K26 the modern-day steroids for pro athletes? It’s starting to look like it. First, it was Amon-Ra St. Brown, who got caught playing 2K until 4 a.m. the night before, technically the same day, he went off against the Browns for 7 catches, 70 yards, and two touchdowns. Now, Donovan Mitchell just dropped 46 points after some kid on Xbox called him washed and said he hadn’t seen a highlight from him in a minute. Which brings me to my next question: how good would Kyler Murray be if he played 2K instead of Call of Duty?

As a 2K player myself, I love hearing that guys in the league are still grinding the game. It’s proof that no matter how rich or famous you get, the love for 2K doesn’t go away. There’s something special about knowing these pros are sitting in their living rooms, controllers in hand, just like the rest of us. But my favorite part of this whole saga is how it shows that the Xbox party chat will forever be a war zone.

Because when a fan meets a player in real life, especially a kid, it’s all smiles and “Donovan, you’re my favorite player! Can we get a picture?” But on Xbox? It’s a whole different world. It’s “You’re washed, bro. Haven’t seen you in a highlight since the bubble. Go do something.” And then Donovan did do something , he dropped nearly 50.

Getting bullied on Xbox builds character. You can say what you want, but sometimes, bullying works. Now, if only we could channel that same energy into bullying ESPN to get back on YouTube TV, but that’s a story for another day.
